Born and raised in the northwestern foothills of Connecticut, I was an energetic child. I was involved in dance and athletics at a very young age. Blessed to be surrounded by rivers, lakes and mountains I found my peace in nature. My family had Sunday dinner every week where we would watch what whatever sports were in season, with no volume, and listen to my grandparents old records. My favorite sport to watch was the bodybuilding competitions and Arnold was king. I was mesmerized by these superhuman spectacles. I was 12 when I began saving my baby-sitting money to purchase Muscle Magazine and studied the muscle groups and exercises as I worked out in our basement.  This went on for decades.

My first job in high school I cared for handicapped children where I discovered my next passion which is helping people through their physical disabilities and bringing them support and encouragement. After high-school I attended college and continued working with the disabled for 18 years at CT Institute for the Blind. Through the years I was married and had two amazing children.

In my down time I would read articles about these amazing resorts in far off places where people would receive massage. I thought…Wow that looks amazing and therapeutic! The more I looked into it and read the history of massage, the more I needed to know. After all, if it kept the Gladiators of Rome fighting another day, then it was good enough for me. I attended Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy where I was chosen to work for one of my teachers who specialized in Deep Tissue Therapy. I learned so much from him and quickly became proficient in this modality. I have since studied many modalities and I love them all.

I have had the opportunity to work in a number of different niches of health and wellness as an LMT such as PT offices, high-end hotel resorts, small privately-owned businesses (including my own), and chiropractic facilities. Fast forward 2020 COVID! UGH….not a good time. When the restrictions were taken off and we were allowed to go back to work nobody was ready to trust that it was safe yet to be so close to others, despite vigilant infection control practices.  I was at a loss until I saw a job posting for an LMT position for Seymore Johnson AFB in Goldsboro NC where I would work with athletic trainers and personal trainers to correct and prevent injuries for the jet fighter pilots exclusively. I got the job and had a great time working with some truly wonderful people who help defend this beautiful country of ours. Now I’m here and I love North Carolina and am proud to call it my new home. I hope to be an asset to the community as I look forward to building strong bonds and a legacy of health well-being.
